A Review of the LaMB Game

Forgive me for the LaMB Game review at such a late time. I tried accessing the game several times, but my computer always hangs. May be it’s as stroke of luck that I was able to access the game today. I’m such a freak in solving hidden objects game.

I’ll be providing screen shots of the game (http://www.animax-lamb.com) , so spoiler alert. Don’t worry; every time you access the game (or die in the game) you will be given a new set of items to find.

Scene 1: Bio-research lab

The great thing about this game is that the items listed are related to LaMB directly or indirectly. Most of them are scientific equipment and paraphernalia; so I’d brush up on my vocabulary if I were you. For example do you know what a centrifuge is? A centrifuge is a piece of equipment, generally driven by a motor, that puts an object in rotation around a fixed axis, applying a force perpendicular to the axis. (source: www.wikipedia.org) Don’t ask me how I knew that to begin with. I’m a nerd.

Being excited that I was able to access the game, I hardly read the rules and the instructions. It seems that if you have clicked wrong items consecutively, a bomb will go off. Before that happens, you need to click the bomb defuse icon at your lower right. If you fail to defuse the bomb in time, your health will go down. How did I know that? I lost on my first try. Hahaha.

Scene 2: Shopping District

Here, I learned two things: 1. there are hidden power-ups in the game. You can click on what appears to be a life and sleep icon to gain health. 2. The bombs are harder to defuse. 3. You die if you don’t find every item. The second lesson was officially learned by losing the game twice because of it. This is harder than I thought. And the only problem is that the game goes back to scene 1.

So until I get pass scene 2, you’ll have to take my word for it that this game is hard. I’ll update you once I pass it. May be I can have my friend help me look for the items.

I’m giving this game 4.5 out of 5.

1. Graphics are excellent; though I wish the sidebar panel is not included when you move the cursor or the game can be played full screen.

2. Game play is excellent. The difference between other hidden games is that this game has power-ups, which I think gives the game an advantage. I also like Eve’s comments on the right side every time you click an item, whether it’s on the list or not.

3. Suggestion: a hint button should be included in the game. The hint button will find 1 item and then deduct 30% of one’s health. This could be use when the user is out of time or if he/she doesn’t know how the item looks like.

I checked the Help button and it says more scenes will be added in the following months, so I’ll keep you in touch with that also. ;-)
