Question 5

If you had to choose a theme song for LaMB, which song would you choose, which band would you have perform it and why?

I think the main themes of LaMB revolve under loneliness and struggle, freedom and hope. With that in mind, the themes “freedom and hope” are for the opening song; “loneliness and struggle” for the closing song.

As for the songs in between I suggest a lighter mood every now and then.

So here is my choice of songs:

Opening songs:

1. Sometimes by Nine Days <-this is a upbeat rhythm to it. The lyrics are just amazing. It just says that one has to let go. And all I can imagine is someone free-falling. May be that’s a good animation for the opening—Eve letting go of the past by falling down a cliff.

I’m not really sure if this band is still around. It’s been ages since I heard a recent song of theirs, yet all of their songs are greatly written and well-played.

2. Your Guardian Angel by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus <- A semi-sweet song. It has a theme coinciding with Simple Plan’s I will wait forever. This is just more of I’ll protect you forever.

Ending Songs:

1. Broken by Lifehouse <-I absolutely adore Lifehouse. I have their CDs! Most of their songs have one or two melancholies which I find so thought provoking. Broken is just a sad song. It strikes me as painful, especially when you are aware of what is happening. That is why I related it to Eve. It seems painful to be there just observing, waiting if there is any healing afterwards.

2. When you’re gone by Avril Lavigne <-I think this can easily portray Eve. It’s when a LaMB is so attached to his/her Shepherd, that if his/her sentence is greater than 30 years, he/she will witness the death of the very person he/she holds dear. I just can’t imagine how the LaMBs, particularly Eve can go on living the rest of their sentences with guilt and with pain. I guess the memories of their love ones fuel their strength to go on.

I tried to place myself in the shoes of Eve when thinking about these songs. I think songs should be listened by the heart, because it was made from it. Excuse my melodramatic moment please. If these songs do not get you right then and there while having the visuals of LaMB, then they defeat my purpose in choosing them.

I hope the production crew takes my songs and ideas as good suggestions. Hehe. ^_^

All songs, except for “Sometimes by Nine Days” can be played at the right hand side. I have also included the Click Five’s “Summertime” and Simple Plan’s “I can wait Forever”, which are already both in LaMB’s OST. All music have been embedded legally. :-)
