Question 1
In LaMB, the process of lamination was first invented to preserve beauty until it evolved into a form of imprisonment. Would you commit a crime to stay young and beautiful?
Perhaps I didn’t notice it, but time went too fast. I was probably in high school putting on my face powder; the next thing I know plastic surgery has become a norm. Superficial beauty has become acceptable, if not constantly wanted.
If that want is insatiable, at what price can we afford such want? What if the price is not monetary, but a test of your morality and character? Would you still pay up or walk away and let your youth slowly wither away?
LaMBs have committed crimes, and are placed in “invisible cells”. No matter how you look at it; it is still a prison. Even if you are an ageless beauty, you cannot do anything about it. You cannot look at the mirror to admire yourself, unless your Shepherd instructs you to do so. Such vanity is wasted and such efforts have become futile. For what is beauty if it is not for yourself.
Besides the obvious downside of lacking free-will, there is the conscience one has to bear up with. Since a sentence for lamination may take centuries, how long will your conscience be able to endure the constant knocking and nagging deep within your soul?
I can never fathom being trapped in a cell for centuries; let alone the guilt seeping every day during my sentence if I ever chose to commit a crime. I don’t think I can handle the guilt over attaining something too superficial.
Beauty? What is the sense of that word? I smirked slyly as I pronounced it. Beauty in the sense of being a LaMB is not beautiful at all.

Animax: LaMB Blogging Contest
As an avid watcher of the Animax channel, I could not help but notice the teasers that started airing a few months back. At first I thought it was a public message from CABC, a non-government organization established to help the environment from its own worst enemy-man. I give a salute to the production crew for making it look authentic.
I finally realized it was a teaser when the other videos came in (i.e. the Cerra News, the CerraVox video blog). Haha. I laughed at myself for realizing it a little bit late. When it struck me that it was for an upcoming animated film to be produced by Animax, it got me more intrigued and hooked.
I was even more thrilled to find out that there’s a blogging contest for LaMB. To cut it short, all one has to do blog about four (4) topics about LaMB as set in the contest rules. The winner gets to take home an Animax mini laptop; 2nd Prize, Sony PSP; and 3rd Prize, Animax USB speakers and Animax limited edition Trexi toy.

The Plot: What is LaMB all about?
The inhabitants of a harsh desert planet called Cerra have perfected a system of imprisonment without walls. Called “Lamination”, this system of virtual slavery ensures that those convicted of serious crimes remain productive, if not free, members of society.
picture of the desert-like planet Cerra.
Prisoners are hence called LaMBs.
The system has made both jails and the death penalty unnecessary in a world where human ingenuity, creativity and labor continue to be precious commodities that cannot be replaced by robots or any form of “artificial” intelligence. This system has sparked off philosophicaldebate among the citizens of Cerra on whether lamination is ethical.
The two protagonists are Eve and Jack. Eve is an ex-weapons specialist who has accidentally taken innocent lives while trying to do good and was sentenced to years in virtual imprisonment behind the laminated suit. Jack on the other hand, is a scientist from another planet who is trying to forget his dead wife and immerses himself in work. Inadvertently Jack gets pulled into the political system of lamination and a romance with Eve…
